Cyclists commuting home from work can stop and enjoy new bike racks outside Pix Pâtisserie and Lincoln Restaurant on North Williams Avenue. The City of Portland installed enough bike “corrals” June 25 for 32 bikes.

Three people were injured in a drive-by shooting June 27, in an incident police do not believe to be gang-related. Detectives say the shooting seemed to be the result of an earlier argument.

A man crossing Highway 43 just south of the Sellwood Bridge was hit by a car and killed the night of June 25. The accident remains under investigation, but the driver was not issued a citation at the scene.

A 20-year-old black bear named Homer, an Oregon Zoo resident since 2007, was euthanized June 24. Vets said the bear was in untreatable pain due to arthritis and old age.
