Renowned ceramic artist Richard Notkin will present an illustrated lecture titled Art & War: Four Decades of Social Commentary in Clay. The event is co-presented by Museum of Contemporary Craft and Oregon College of Art & Craft. The event takes place at Pacific Northwest College of Art, Swigert Commons, 1241 NW Johnson St., 226-4391. 4 pm Sunday, Oct. 21. (3 pm artist reception to precede event). Free and open to the public.

The second weekend of the annual Portland Open Studios will showcase dozens of local artists with works on view and for sale across a wide variety of media. 10 am-5 pm Saturday-Sunday, Oct. 20-21.
